A twin-turbocharged Lamborghini Gallardo tuned by Underground Racing received an unwanted...facelift when the driver smashed the Italian supercar on a curve at the Caffeine and Octane event in Georgia this past weekend. A forum member who appears to be a friend of the car’s owner uploaded several photos and a description of the crash over at the Car Lounge.
According to the post, the blame is put on the driver’s shoe heels that “came loose and as he stepped on the brakes, the loose part stayed partially on the gas”. A set of videos showing the crash as it happened as well as the aftermath, which translates in a broken rear suspension, wheel damage and some minor body scruffs, also made their way online. You can watch them right after the break.

At least that's what a Lamborghini Gallardo owner from China chose to do, with his shocking protest having every chance to cause reactions as far away as Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy.
We all have our unfortunate experiences as consumers, but I think none of us would have the heart to do what this man did. After his Lamborghini Gallardo failed to function following a service at an official Lamborghini workshop, he decided to protest in public.
And what was his idea of a protest, we hear you ask? Brace yourselves - he hired people to destroy the sports car with hammers right in front of a large audience in the city of Qingdao, China, in an attempt to provoke public support and to determine the manufacturer to respect his consumer rights!

This year Italy is celebrating 150 years since its unification, an event that a Italian symbol like Lamborghini couldn't ignore. To honor the event, the super car maker will build a special edition of the Gallardo called the Tricolore. The name pays tribute to the Italian flag, which decorates the car in the form of a three-colored stripe that stretches across the hood, the driver's seat and the roof in a way that reminds of the LP550-2 Valentino Balboni edition.

Meals on...Exotic Wheels: Gotham Dream Cars Helps Feed the Elderly, so you Best Give a Damn
0 comments at 1:00 PM
In charity-oriented news, Gotham Dream Cars recently assisted Pascack Valley, New Jersey's Meals on Wheels program in delivering food to some of the area's age- and hunger-impaired citizens. Edibles were brought door-side via cars like a Viper SRT-10, Lamborghini Gallardo, and Maserati Quattroporte, among others. The best part? Well, that depends.
Most people would say it's feeding those in need. Normal, right? Unfortunately, the press seems to think the story is the cars. That's right; instead of people who require help, the exotic transportation became the story. It's insane.

Unless we're missing something here or we've somehow managed to imitate Marty McFly and travel into the future, Lamborghini's Paris Motor Show Sesto Elemento lightweight supercar remains a one-off concept model - at least officially and for now.
That said, we find it hard to explain the sale of the car by German luxury and supercar dealer, Auto Salon Singen, on Mobile.de. In the description, the alleged seller claims that Lamborghini will build 10 examples of the Sesto Elemento, but they won't be street legal. The price of the... future supercar is set at €2,261,900 including 19% VAT (tax), or just shy of US$3 million. Any explanation(s) are welcome.

German tuning firm Hamann decided it was time to update its Victory performance and styling package for the Lamborghini Gallardo and adapt it to the newer version of the Italian supercar, the LP560-4. The Victory II adds a flamboyant paint job along with a wide body kit and the not-so necessary, but apparently welcome by buyers, power upgrades.

Anderson Germany’s latest creation, the Lamborghini Gallardo White Edition, is, well, white. What we're trying to say is that the discrete exterior modifications implemented by the Düsseldorf-based tuner got lost in all that snowy paintjob. Otherwise, the 20-inch alloys with shiny black spokes do stand out and 600 ponies sound nice - just as long as you know how to control your hands and feet once you get behind the steering wheel.

Yesterday, thanks to an online leak, we got out first taste of the all-new Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante. Today, the Italian manufacturer officially unveiled the 570 hp soft-top supercar, confirming that considerable effort was put into reducing the weight by 65 kg (143 lbs) and, this way, improving the Spyder's performance.
Lamborghini achieved this by replacing numerous parts with carbon fiber components, both in the cabin and on the body. Those obsessed with numbers should know that 40% of the weight savings can be traced back to the exotic composite.
The body shell is a spaceframe structure, made from aluminum, another material that goes easy on the scales, while being extremely strong. Making this setup even better was a huge task, Lamborghini says, but, thanks to the aforementioned carbon fiber parts, in the end, engineers pulled it off.

Lamborghini LP 570-4 Spyder Performante: "Official" Superleggera Spyder appears online
0 comments at 10:13 AM
Lamborghini may have just dropped some info and specs on its latest special edition Gallardo, the LP 570-4 Spyder "Performante". I say "may have" because nearly 100% of the information in the press release posted by a forum member of Teamspeed is cut and pasted from the Superleggera's original info sheet (barring the weight / height / speed differences).
The Performante - if that is, indeed, its real name - benefits from a diet thanks to Lamborghini's now Lotus-like commitment to weight reduction, resulting in a Gallardo drop-top that's 143 lbs / 65 kg lighter than its predecessor.

Youtube's Marchettino has some neat footage featuring one of two Gallardo 560-4s donated by Lamborghini to the Italian police (the other was totaled last year - see here). The cars were originally acquired in 2008 as replacements for the first two Gallardo police cars (donated in 2004), and their purpose is to rapidly transport organs and patrol high-risk sections of Italy's certain highways.
The Texas Mile had its inaugural event back in October 2003 and since then it has become very popular among performance enthusiasts. There you can drive on a one and a half mile highway section as fast as you can and not be in trouble in the eyes of the law. Oh, and you can set some records. Just what the owner of this twin-turbo Lamborghini Gallardo intended, but things went horribly wrong for him as you can see in the video after the break.
Lambrolet Camardo: Yep, Someone Actually Tried to Turn a Camaro into a Gallardo...

This here replica of a Lamborghini Gallardo based on a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro is soooo wrong in soooo many different ways and levels it would probably take a 50-page supplement to explore them all... However, we must admit that the eBay seller's description gave us a hearty good laugh so we'll refrain from making any disparaging comments. Hit the break for the full image gallery.
Pop quiz, hot shot: what happens when an irresistible force meets an immovable object? Answer: This.
The irresistible force: a silver-colored Lamborghini Gallardo tearing down the strip. The immovable object: a traffic light pole in Laval, Quebec. The result: well, you can see for yourself.

At the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan, design students Daniel Chinchilla Ochoa and Alberto Fernandez Albilares prepared this Lamborghini design study, called the Indomable.
Under the supervision of Filipo Perini, head of Lamborghini Centro Stile and designer Alessandro Salvagnin, Ochoa and Albilares were tasked with creating a design study based on the existing Lamborghini Gallardo's wheelbase.
Lamborghini has teamed up with Swiss luxury watchmaker Blancpain to create a limited edition version of its Gallardo supercar that pays homage to the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo racing cars. As you may have guessed, Blancpain is the title sponsor of the one-make racing series.
Finished in a black paintwork, the road-legal Gallardo LP 570-4 Blancpain Edition adopts the racing model's Countach-sized rear-wing and unique engine cover which is said to offer improved ventilation.
The car also gets Skorpius alloy wheels with yellow-painted brake calipers and discs made from carbon-ceramic composite, while several external components, such as the diffuser and mirror casings are made from carbon-fiber.
